Last night I finished one of my favourite paintings to date, which also happens to be the least realistic. Behind the black basecoat lies a textured pattern that represents the way sound reverberates. On top, primaries wave to and fro, as if a moment of speech were captured visually. I hung this painting in my work cubicle, prompting much interest, to remind myself of the importants of simple, distinct aesthetics.
